When Beyond Basic Learning changed its name to Beyond Basic Learning; The International School, not only did that characterize the diversity of children enrolled representing over 20 countries, it also highlights one of BBL's core values to serve as a cultural bridge for children and parents to their native lands. Starting in the fall of 2011 the school will also provide a scholastic bridge to primary education by offering the new Kindergarten program.
From its inception in 2002, BBL has delivered on its commitment to high quality education and will forge ahead with an unequivocal commitment to prepare and transition children to grade school. With access to the waterfront, the Hoboken Museum and other local businesses, the curriculum draws from the community for teaching science, math, and the arts. Kindergarten students will also benefit from small classes and diversified meal plans, and families will appreciate the extended hours.
BBL provides a lasting experience for families and boasts of many former students accepted to programs around the globe. Tal Prag previously had her son, Zohar enrolled at BBL but the family returned to their native Israel. Recently while visiting Hoboken on holiday they visited the school. "Zohar misses BBL so much," said Tal. "He has benefitted greatly and still sings the many songs he learned at BBL."
