A “First” for BBL:I

Kindergarten & First Grade

What?
This new First Grade Program will be based on a curriculum of Science, Math, & Technology with an access to a nature preserve.  In addition, children have access to technology with access to an observatory and nature studies.  The class will be staffed with two teachers; one focused on the curriculum expert and the other focused on the science content expert.  A food program will be provided at no additional fee.

Who?
Children that attend a Pre-School program (age from 3's and 4's) as well as Kindergarten can be considered for our First Grade Program in Fall 2015.

Where?
The NJ Meadowlands, located just 10 miles away, will serve as our class laboratory providing students with hands on opportunities to learn about nature and participate in hands-on study.  It will also support our arts program where the landscape will inspire the children to explore poetry and painting.  The school bus we purchased for our Summer Camp will be used for pick-up and drop-off between Newport, Hoboken, and Weehawken, and will transport children to the NJ Meadowlands preserve. http://www.njmeadowlands.gov/njmc/about/cese.html

Why?
Because our students retain the top standing in their schools after graduation and continue excelling, we want to continue in this tradition by providing a quality program with a sustained emphasis on nature studies and community.

How?
By leveraging Ms. Zuleika’s years of expertise and success with BBL:I to reach new heights, this new First Grade class will raise the expectations higher.  Having recently graduated with a MA in Environmental Conservation Education from NYU Steinhardt School of Education, she is poised to blend her new knowledge with her MA in Curriculum Design and Bachelor in Early Childhood Education.  Her scholarship, passion and drive will continue to foster a strong program that captivates children’s interests. Combined with the leadership team, the teaching time also holds a Master’s degree supporting our new found direction into elementary education.
